Happy Easter 2011 | Remember ...

http://img94.imageshack.us/img94/1858/post9.png

Hello guys,
I wish you all a happy easter and i guess you haven't wait for me to start the day, going to the mass, enjoying some chocolate eggs, spending the day in family. That's exactly the spirit of Easter for me ... but we also have to keep in mind that Easter's not just for the chocolate eggs but it's mainly the celebration of Jesus Christ's rebirth. Yeah, I know ... it may sound cheesy and you would probably think "Nicolas Strands is catholic ... he's going to spoil us with his stories about religion" but that's not it ... it's just that we should remember the original celebration before the festive and commercial one.

Anyway, i've been doing pretty loads of tracks, mainly remixes during my holidays (at least, i worked, haha) and I can tell you that you will soon see them out on stores.

The track i want to share with you today is a special one because it is one of the best remixes i've ever had of one of my tracks. It's going to be released later this year itself (probably at the end of it because of vocals and short time) but still you can hear a preview of it.
It is a track i made in collaboration with Bruno Simonetta (aka Sulto) and it's called "Something You Like". The version i'm sharing is Revero Remix ...

If ever you've heard the Tron soundtrack ... this should remind you of it.

Filthy Strands | 15 April (Tribute To A Legend) + Episode 1 of Podcast

Title

Hey guys,

I know it's been a very long time that i haven't posted anything ... but i was in holidays and it seems that Mia, Neimad & G-Deon have been too. But we're back with some great stuff.

Just for today, i just wanna make you guys remember the great guy Sir Charles Spencer Chaplin also known as "Charlie Chaplin" was. He was one of the most creative and influential personalities of the silent-film era who gave more entertainment, pleasure and relief to so many people when they needed it to the most during the world war and during Hitler's rise. He was an English comic actor, film director and composer who used mime, slapstick and other visual comedy routines.

He wrote and directed most of the films, from 1915 he was also producing them, and by 1918 he also composed music for them, the most known being "Modern Times" and just for this, i wanna share this version of the song remade by J-Five, some rapper. Enjoyable!
Oh, and to those asking why i'm posting this ... it's because Sir Chaplin is having his 122th birthday today ... moment of silence please !

Just to end this post, i just wanna announce the very first episode of the blog's official podcast. For this first episode, it's a mix by Herve Pagez, a very talented producer from France with i'm collaborating on some stuff you'll hear soon !

Enjoy ! :)

Filthy Strands | April's Fish

Hey peeps! Welcome To Filthy Strands!
How was your first day of April? Mine's was great ;) (Although I was victim of some...pranks) Anyways! ^^' It's holidays and Easter is coming at a great pace - and, Yes, I love chocolate :) I wish you happy days, and for those who aren't in holidays, don't worry, I have something for you! Ever seen an Adidas commercial? The one with an awesome music? wondered which music it was? Well, here it is!
It is Civilization from the awesome band Justice. I love the bass and the effects, especially the upbeat rhythms. But then, the band itself is amazing, you shouldn't expect less from Justice.

Enjoy =]

Track Of The Day | Tiesto & Mark Knight feat. Dino - Beautiful World

Name
Hey guys,

I know it's been quite a long time i haven't updated the blog ... but i've had some sad time as one of my friends lost one of his relatives and i had to be by his side ... hope you understand that, and i know you will.

Anyway, this time i'm coming to share with you my favourite track for this whole month.
Released on Toolroom Records, it is the collaboration between two very huge names in Electronic Dance Music ... Mark Knight & Tiesto ... (you should know either one or the other).
The outcome is a very club-oriented track ... all techy and trancey ... with a very beautiful vocal line from Dino Lenny (aka Dino).

The vocal line repeating "cause if you closed your eyes, it's a beautiful world" spreads a message everyone should understand. Considering all the horrible things happening around the world like the nuclear explosion and the tsunami occuring in Japan, all the strikes against the government in the African countries ... the war against Kadhafi, just to name a few of the recent ones ...
So, all we have to do is to listen to this track, close your eyes ... and just see the good out of the worst in this world.

That's all for today.
Cheers,
Nicolas Strands.

Ripple The Sound : Episode 9

Hey everyone! How's life?
Mine's been as usual, full of witches, spells (Yes, I'm a fan of Harry potter) and I've encountered Lord Voldemort recently, he's been fine, but he's dreading the oncoming movie, Haha.

I'm bringing some crunchy new stuff today :) Ever heard of Adam1time and of the Phoenix Bros? Well, it's high time dudes! I present the new track of M.Strands and Adam1time featuring The Phoenix Bros. Here's the promotional sample. On this one, Nicolas tried to apply his talent to hip hop music, and, seriously, it's a success. No really, that's amazing. The first time I listened to it, I couldn't remove my cursor from the replay button, I couldn't help it. I remember I was singing along while tapping my feet (I couldn't do more, there were people behind me ^^')

Enjoy! =)

Ripple The Sound : Episode 8

Konishiwa readers! Welcome to Filthy Strands.

These past days, horrible things have happened, and among them, there has been the earthquake which had a huge impact on Northern Japan. It triggered huge tsunamis and for now, it has killed about 1200 people. It is an international matter which is on the mind of millions of people, just like the case of Haiti. Let's just hope that there will be no more deaths. I dedicate this article to them.

In the mood of listening to world-ranked Djs? Here we go with 'Cinema' from the widely acclaimed -Grammy Winner- Benny Benassi featuring British pop rock singer Gary Go. The beat is right on key and the vocals make the track extremely catchy. This single will be on Benny's fourth upcoming album Spaceship.
Get pumped!

When things are bad, we take comfort in the thought that they could always be worse. And when they are, we find hope in the thought that things are so bad they have to get better.

Never let go of hope. One day you will see that it all has finally come together. What you have always wished for has finally come to be. You will look back and laugh at what has passed and you will ask yourself... 'How did I get through all of that?

43th Anniversary of Mauritius' Independency | Why celebrate ?

Post

Hey guys, it's like the first time i'm posting just to talk about something else than music.
Every 12th of March, since 1968, we, Mauritians, celebrate the anniversary of our independency ... but honestly, i think it's just some wastage of time because we are still being slaves to that f**king system that we created of our own hands.

Anyway, the only positive thing is that i really like the atmosphere felt on that day. (Haha, i'm a living contradiction)
And i'm proud to be a Mauritian myself, and i partly owe it to you guys who are following me in my achievements.

Anyway, i'm not going to end this post without letting you have some piece of sound to get yourself satisfied. This is a preview of an edit i did of a remix of Tonic's "Fire" by Sulto, which is an unreleased remix. Enjoy this preview !

Ripple The Sound : Episode 6

Hey buds =]
Welcome to the 6th Episode of Ripple The Sound!

How you've been? I've been tired in my world, just got back from it  as all I've been hearing was : wars, work and wars. I'm genuinely happy for the Egyptians who - finally- got their 'freedom'. But then I'm astounded by the events which are occurring in Libya. I guess the protests in Egypt left off some snowball effect on every country! I hope they're going to be fine. :/

 I needed some fresh air so, back to Filthy Strands! ^^

So, here's a song from the Swedish DJ and producer, Eric Prydz, best known for his 2004 hit single “Call On Me”, his remix of Pink Floyd’s “Another Brick In The Wall” (known as “Proper Education”) and more recently the anthem “Pjanoo”.

The song is called Niton (The Reason), by Eric Prydz himself, featuring Jan Burton, a Welsh music producer best known for his work with ex-Fluke member Mike Tournier in their joint project, Syntax. Personally, I think that this song is underrated. It is something we could easily listen at night when we're unable to sleep- so as to bring peace in mind because at night we tend to think too much ^^'- or even on the road to school/work to bring us back on track to the best mood ever! I highly recommend you this beautiful piece of soul.

~~~
Here's another sick tune from the amazing producer Sandy Vee featuring Robin S. Called 'straight to the sky''
That's the song of the week :)
~ Dr. Robert Anthony
Eargasm For The Week : Episode 3
eargasm
Hey pals, i just hope you're all right.
During most of our meetings, it was claimed by Mr. Strands that all my musical choices were never directed towards electronic music, so for this week i have chosen an awesome track "AutoSave" from Fedde Le Grand and Patric La Funk whose name is enough for making you guess that it is a pure banger. Believe me, this is what we call a really good sound !!!
Enjoy it ! ;)
The Beat Goes On : Episode 4
TheBeatGoesOn
Hello there bloggers,
I'm back from USA after having passed a whole week-end at Los Angeles for the NBA All-Star Game (You should have heard of this somewhere in the news, it is one of the most popular shows that takes place in the Staples Center). I just gotta admit it, i have a real passion for basket-ball ... and i am a die-hard fan of Kobe Bryant and i just can't help being amazed seeing players doing dunks.
Alright, enough speaking, time for some great music.
Today, i'm sharing a bootleg of the Dirty Money (P. Diddy's band) song "Hello Good Morning" by Subliminal Records artists Erick Morillo & Eddie Thoneick. Suits well the theme for me. Enjoy !
Eargasm For The Week : Episode 2
Eargasmfortheweek
Hi,
I just hope everyone's solemn :D.
My sound for this week is a groovy and really catchy beat from one of my favorite groups.
You must surely have heard about the "TWO DOOR CINEMA CLUB" band by their thrilling and dynamic genre (mainly for their song "Something Good Can Work").
This song is actually the number one song in my playlist of the week, i hope that you appreciate it. Enjoy !!!
